GOLETA- A prominent restaurant building in Old Town Goleta, known for being the home of The Natural Café, has sold to a new owner. The same family had owned 5892 Hollister Ave since the 1930’s. The building was marketed for lease when the owners received an offer to buy the building and decided to sell.
Michael Martz and Kristopher Roth of Hayes Commercial Group represented the seller in the off-market transaction. The 2,500 SF freestanding building was purchased by an owner-user who will be opening an Asian Fusion restaurant in the space.
“It’s exciting to see the building changing hands after over 80 years,” Martz said. “This is one of the most recognizable buildings in Old Town. A new concept at this location will continue the momentum of positive changes taking place in the neighborhood.”
The Natural Café moved from its Old Town location to Camino Real Marketplace beside Hollister Brewing Company and the Camino Real Cinemas.
Owner-users have accounted for nearly half the commercial sales on the South Coast in 2015, due to low interest rates and the improving economy.
