MONTECITO, CA – Coast Village Plaza at 1187 Coast Village Rd in Montecito was the site of a celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony this afternoon. Nearly 100 people attended the event, held to unveil the transformative remodel of the property, which was three years in the making and includes a new elevator, parking lot, decking, dining patios, lighting, signage, driveway, and landscaping.
Attendees enjoyed lunch catered by the two newest tenants in the center: Renaud’s Patisserie & Bistro and Empty Bowl Gourmet Noodle Bar. Both are scheduled to open new restaurants there in 2018.
Mayor Helene Schneider cut the ribbon following remarks by Hank Hurst and Rich Rosen of H&R Investments, the partnership that bought the property in 2014. The event was hosted by H&R Investments and Hayes Commercial Group. Mayor Schneider was joined by Congressman Salud Carbajal, Santa Barbara City Councilmember Gregg Hart, and other dignitaries.
“Hank and Rich assembled a great team to turn this building into an elite retail and office property,” Francois DeJohn of Hayes Commercial Group said. “This event was a fun way to show appreciation for the hard work everyone has done and to thank the existing tenants for their patience during construction.”
The project team included the design firm eID, Michael Hurst Designs, Tryon Company and Schipper Construction.
“People were visibly amazed when they saw the new patio spaces,” DeJohn added. “The transformation is truly remarkable.”
One remaining restaurant space with patio is available for lease, as well as executive offices on the lower level, marketed by Hayes Commercial Group.
