Entrepreneurs Nancy and William Kimsey have opened a new shop at 1137 Coast Village Road, next to Lilly and Peregrine Gallery. Previously, the 845 square foot space was home to the Kate Boutique. The new store is named Legacy and purveys a selection of fine tabletop furnishings and decorative accessories for entertaining. Kristopher Roth and Michael Martz of Hayes Commercial Group represented the Kimseys in the transaction.
Legacy has been a concept in the making for a number of years as Nancy Kimsey has patiently waited for the right space and for the economy to turn around. In addition to years of world travel, Nancy’s career includes gift buying for major specialty stores, product management for Lee Jeans, and account management for Montblanc writing instruments. The new store is devoted to home furnishings, focusing on distinctive tabletop and decorative accessories. Nancy states, “A beautifully decorated table is like a wrapped present.”

“Securing prime retail storefronts like 1137 Coast Village Road along the coveted lower village corridor has remained difficult as turnover of spaces is limited, even throughout the recession” said Michael Martz. Kris Roth added, “This goes to show the strength of this niche retail market that has been supported by the strong demographics of Montecito.”
